Riddles for the Day

The Riddles for today are:

I travel far and wide, saying "the Spirit calls me and I must go"; enslaved yet free, men always trying to tell me what I must be-strong and proud all the time shouting, " Ain't I a woman?!" Who am I?

George, George, George, George, 10,000 saying yes mam and no sir. I organized and earned greater pay. The first of my kind even to this day. Who am I?

I say Jesus is the center of my life. Riding at night clothed in white armor. A father, a friend, a terrorist too. I was so right I called myself a knight. Who am I?

Canary, Amber, Topaz and Saffron, all in a category yet a different story. I'm easy to find just use your mind and bring a sample to me.

These are today's riddles. Even though you weren't on the tour, try to answer them and give us your response.

Student of the Day

Our last student of the day is the precious Virginia Collins. She is one of our seniors. She attends Vallejo High School, and participates in the Apache Academy, the Culinary program, and is on the Powder Puff Football team. She is a two year member of Keystone. She participates in the Feed the Hungry and Food Pantry program at Friendship Baptist Church. She is a praise dancer for her church. Virginia is very comfortable around adults and because of her positive attitude and demeanor, she interacts and converses easily. I have really grown to respect her independent and tenacious character. She is in my office constantly seeking scholarships and filling out college applications. On this tour she is in the face of every admissions director of the colleges we have toured. She applies everywhere, promoting herself while asking a lot of questions. Because of this, she was accepted at Johnson C. Smith University while on the tour. I would be surprised if she in not accepted into more colleges. Virginia thank you for your presence in our program. It is better because of you. Do not give up your spirit. Your spirit and sattitude will yield greater fruits for you and your future. We love you and are very proud of you.

Student of the Day

This is the great Estes Cutrer. He is a junior at Jesse Bethel High School. Estes participates on the Varsity football and basketball teams at Bethel. He is a two year member of Keystone participating in the Feed the Hungry and Food Pantry programs at Friendship Baptist Church. This is his second tour with us. Here you see him volunteering in the food pantry program, where we put together food boxes and give them to people in need. We do this once a mionth. Estes has a quiet nature, but is one of the most out going young men I know. He is a very talented athlete, scholar, and active member of Keystone. Estes we are proud of you and excited to see what is in store for your future.

Student of the Day

One of our students today is the lovely Angelique Walker. Even though I met her this year, it seems like I have known her all her life. She has an open personality that allows people who do not know her to feel comfortable in her presence. I appreciate her humble obedient spirit. She is a junior at Jesse Bethel High School where she participates in cheerleading and holds a great GPA. She is definitely college bound and on her way to big things. Thank you for your part in the college tour experiance, and allowing us to support your efforts to preparatation for college and adult life. You are a good example of Keystone style leadedrship.

St. James Presbyterian Church

After leaving North Carolina A&T, we went to the Civil Rights Center in Greensboro, North Carolina. This center was once the Woolworth's department store discussed in the last postings. The students were able to learn more about the Civil Rights movement of the 60's.

We then traveled to St. James Presbyterian church. This church graciously provided us with dinner. The dinner was delicious!! They served baked chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, corn, bread and dessert. Thanks to my Pastor,Reverend Dante Quick and his mad connections, we were able to have a meal and enertainment from their youth group. You will see pictured Reverend Danner and the youth group serving and fellowshipping with us.
